Grown at internship

I have develop a lot of different skills through my internship i learn how to talk appropialy like profecianal. Another skills is like translating it has help me develop on that is easier for my to translate now and another one is that am not shy to talk to adults or have communication with then i get to help then so is easier for me ow to communicate with then. I laern that i have a lot of patience for people like i dont get mad that easy when we cant help then with something i dont let that get to me.

Next Year internship

The qualities that I'm looking for in a place so i can intern is that is a place were i feel con trouble that is student friendly environment and that I'm not shy being their, i feel controuble talking to anybody in the place also that i can ask questions if i don't understand something. I would like to do any type of work as long as i enjoy it and like it is all good. I think that i mentor like the one i have now i would like to work with for next year. I would really like working at a medical place so i can get a taste of how it feels working at a hospital since i already know how it is to work at a law office now i would like to learn about medicine.

data collection

La Raza Centro Legal those collect data like client's information. their in-come information but their confidential so nobody sees the data table or the informing that's in then. Is analyze by the boarder of director of the organization that check that data also Anamaria the boss she is the only only and Genavie too (mentor). since is confidential i don't know what type of decisions are base on that.

Friendly!!!!!!! La Raza Centro Legal i s so friendly they all welcome you with and big smile and they always are talking to you saying hi how are you, they help you if you need help on anything that you might need help on, they also make you feel like your part of the big family. La Raza is organization helps low-income people with legal problems such ass immigration, workers rights, senior law, the have a day labors program, and they also have a womans collective program too.

Auditorium!!!!!!!!! that week i learn how to reserve the auditorium I didn't know how to do it but this week i learn how to you first go to go look at the calendar of the building to see is any if the space is free for that day or time if ti is then you got to call the person that is in char of the calendar to tell them the day and time so he can reserved and so he can writes in the calendar.

debate

A debate that their have being at my internship i havent really seeing any kind of debate i think thats because Im not in the meetings that they have but i think that they have but they tent to nsolvce it really easy they just repeat then self and say their view then the others get to see if it makes sense or not.

check in

my internship has being going good i not at the front desk that much no more i be on thrusdays only not tuesdays instead im working on updating the refers binder. i actially miss being at the front desk evryday that i come to my internship is a little hard when i try to go back to it becaouse i have forgoten some of the stuff like were they were like what kind of referes were at n which ones were better according their case but know i have remenber evrything now.

Oppression N Libertion

I haven't really seen any type off oppression well i would probably say maybe interpersonal but see when they make the comments there playing a round with each other like they both know that there only playing a round is not like there real meaning it because i mean there is no racism theres different cultures all though all of them speak Spanish but that is because there job require to speak Spanish because most of the claims speak Spanish so they need to have people that speak Spanish so it would be easier to help the claims solve there problem to have a good communication with then. But really there is no oppression or maybe is just that i haven't notes any i would probably have too absorb for i day to tell if there is any type of oppression

advice

The question that i would probably ask my memtor would be why did she get interested in being a lawyer. She just tell me that she owuld like too become a lawyer because of all the legal problem her family had face over the past like discrimination and just personal problems and seeing all those thinks that were happening to her family. Sha became too heve this i dea when she was in thrith grade when she saw how the lawyer help her grandmother and her anty she started thinking that she would like to hepl people at first she wanted to be a criminal lawyer but thenshe didnt really like arguing with going to court a lot she like doing all the work but not fighting in court for the clain. so that she use to work at institution laboral at frist then she became to work here at centro legal de raza. I wanted to ask here this question because i didnt really knew why she became a lawyer like her story everyone has a different story, so thats why i wanted to know here a little better.

Hard Moment

My hardest moment it was this Tuesday so i was at the front desk by my self Therese usually someone else there too but on Tuesday there wasn't any one there with me so i answer this phone call and it was this lady that was going to have court on Thursday so she want to ask this question to one of the immigration attorney so i told the woman you have too make an appointment with the lawyer they cant answer questions over the phone but i gave her this phone numbers were she can call but she still wanted me to past her to the lawyer but i kept telling her no they cant answer questions over the phone so she told me i thought you guys her the people then when i was going to tell her we is just that we cant answer immigration question so she hang up on me, then later on another phone call but this time it was a women that wanted to talk to a person name Esperanza a bout housing so i told the woman Theresa no body name Esperanza here then she was like how your going to tell me there isn't when i went to talk to her last week then so when i was going to tell her no there no body name like that we don't do housing no more she hangs up on me so i was really getting upset and the woman that talk to me were upset so they got me but i handled in a good way. I haven't talk to my mentor a bout this hard moment but I'm playing to tell her.

Problems at internship

The type of problems that there is at my internship is that sometimes when people come in with issue if we don't do then we refereeing to other places and sometimes we don't tent to have a lot places that could help then with there problems so we try to give or best refer that we can the way we can solve this problem is by looking up different information that could help then with there case and also and also maybe be a little more organize a bout the were every refer is that like make a binder with the different sections that people come in with issues or that maybe only one came in with and also update the information so we can help then with. Another issues is when people have an appointment with somebody they tent to get a little mad cause because maybe that person is already seen somebody else so they keep like they don't say anything but you can tell in the faces that they make that there really not happy at all the way we can solve this problem is by maybe the person that they want to see not take very long with the other client.

Internship Different From School And Home

At my internship it someways is like home put in others is not because is more like the work they do there like they communicate whats going on like or what they need to solve faster but although ways it is like a big family because everybody gets a long with everyone they talk to each other they mess around with each other like play around laughing they go out to eat lunch together talk about different things to me it seeings like school because everyone has there a schedule to follow event thought the difference is that they make there own shedule n they can go out any time to lunch well keep being in mind when they have there own a appointments. also its like home because everyone has gets a long with everyone n they lough together make jokes.

Skills

The skills that i need to be better at my internship is that i need to remember were everyone name is at my internship and what they do there like the type of work. I also need to remember were everyone office is at because sometimes they have appointments an i go look at round the office sometimes is hard because i don't know were everyone office is at. I also need to be a little better at translation because sometimes is hard to translate using that proper language. The qualities that i need i feel that the qualities that a person would need to this type of work that i do i have them already is just that my personality is like that already so i fell that i don't need any more qualities as a person.

My mentor is very good she is a very nice person she is very easy to talk too she gets along with everyone she is very understandable person and she has a lot of knowledge on law. what makers good at her job is well since she is the administrate of the lawyers so she understands them when they mist something up or when they have trouble with something she knows what there going through because she has being through that too so she doesn't get mad at them or anything like that in fact she tryst to help them by like telling them or when is the day of your case so they know what they need to do first so she tryst not let them make the mistakes that she made in the past when she was an attorney. Something that i have done that I'm proud of is that know I'm not nerves when I'm at the front desk that know i know were i can refer people too according to the problem that there having and also i know were is all that a information.

Today i got to meet a little better Veronica she works at the organization that I'm interning at i learn that she started working at the front desk like what am doing then she applied for the office administrate she got accepted to so that work so that's the work that she do in the office. She said that what motivated her to work here was that she wanted to know the type of problems that the community have and also she said that she like working with people trying to help them in the type of problems that they have. also learn that she only have a bout one year of working in Centro Legal de la raza. She also said that the most difficult thing of this job is when you cant help a claim in the type of problems they have sometimes they start to get frustrated a bout the fact that you cant help them and trying to dial with it in a positive way with out you getting mad at them. I learn that she have two little girls her parents are from Mexico but she was borne here.

challenge and success

Last week my challenge was that i was at the front desk helping then i answer the phone then this women ask me this question a bout notary but i didn't know were to reference here so theres always another person with me at the front desk then i ask the other person that was with me for the day but she didn't know either were to referent her so i told the women on the phone that we didn't have this information in and she was getting upset a bout that we didn't have this information she was all telling me that how was that possible that we didn't have that information and then i told her well I'm sorry but we don't so she hand up. A success that i had is answering phone calls helping translate referring people to other places that could help them with there problem if they don't do it in the organization that's a success because before i didn't have the courage to do that and now i do it i m starting to be more countable with the front desk.
